It is a WWC Holiday/Winter Tea tradition to collect gifts for the women and children at the Crossway Community in Kensington, Maryland. Please consider bringing a gift with you to this year's tea: Crossway Community especially appreciates unwrapped toys, books for adults and children, new kitchen items or other housewares, or women's personal care products.
This season, Washington Wellesley Club will once again partner with Crossway Community, a local non-profit that provides integrated educational and supportive services for families of all ethnic and economic backgrounds with a focus on outreach to low-income families.
Public Transportation:The Wisconsin Place Community Recreation Center is within a 5 minute walk of the Friendship Heights metro station on the Red Line. A large number of Ride On, MTA, and Metro busses service the Friendship Heights station just across Wisconsin Avenue from the Community Center. Exit the metro on the West side of Wisconsin Avenue and look for the exit for Wisconsin Place. If you are facing Bloomingdales, take the walkway on the right between Cole Haan and Eileen Fisher. Across from Potomac Pilates, turn left down the walkway towards the Wisconsin Place Community Center.
Parking:There is a parking garage attached to Wisconsin Place. Alternatively, you may park for free at the Geico parking lot across the street from Wisconsin Place. Enter at 5260 Western Ave., Chevy Chase. Wisconsin Place Community Center is across the street on Friendship Blvd. -- go up the stairs to the lobby on the plaza level.
